Q2 laid the rails. Q3 sends the agents.
Three months ago, HYRE was an AI-enhanced DeFi data API with one payment rail. Today it's payment rails on four chains, a model gateway, an MCP server on the official registry, on-chain agent identity, and a token that gets scarcer every time any of it is used. This is the recap of how that happened — and what we're building next.
What shipped in Q2
The quarter had one turning point: in early June we stopped positioning HYRE as a data product and committed to the thesis that agents need three things nobody was giving them together — a way to pay, something worth paying for, and a way to prove who they are. Then we shipped against it, weekly:
- JUN 01
The pivot: rails for the agent economy
We stopped describing HYRE as a DeFi data API and started building what it was becoming: payments, intelligence, and identity infrastructure for autonomous agents. Everything below follows from that one decision.
- JUN 08
Backed by Alchemy via the Solana Fund
HYRE's entire Solana RPC layer moved onto Alchemy — and with it, access to infrastructure we'll be using hard in Q3 (more on that below).
- JUN 11
The $HYRE burn flywheel
20% of protocol revenue buys $HYRE on the open market and destroys it on-chain — automatically, every 5 minutes, with a live public tracker. Supply only goes down. The same day, hyreagent.fun relaunched on the design system you're reading now.
- JUN 12
The HYRE Gateway + rail #2 + rail #3 + agent registries
One day, three legs of the thesis. The Gateway (gw.hyreagent.fun) opened OpenAI-compatible access to open-weight models, paid per call. The b402 rail brought x402-style settlement to BSC alongside our Base x402 rail. And ME agents began auto-registering on ERC-8004 trust registries across SKALE and BSC — identity, on-chain.
- JUN 15
Holder free tier
Hold ≥20M $HYRE, use the Gateway free. The token became an access key, not just a burn target.
- JUN 20
Benchmarks with receipts
GLM 5.2 vs Kimi K2.7 Code vs Opus 4.8 — 12 tasks, code executed, answers checked, all three at 12/12 with the frontier model costing 3.5–5.7× more. Two days later we streamed two models building landing pages live on camera. We publish methodology, not vibes.
- JUN 19–30
Builder grants + free model weeks
A $100 gateway-credit grant program for builders, weekly free-model promos (Kimi 2.7, GLM 5.2, GPT-5.5), and frontier models landing on the Gateway. Distribution experiments, running in public.
- JUL 02
r402: the first x402 rail on Robinhood Chain
Robinhood Chain went to mainnet July 1. On day two, HYRE shipped rail #4 — gasless USDG payments via native EIP-3009 — plus four /rwa intelligence endpoints for tokenized stocks, verified with real on-chain settlements. hyre-mcp v2.1.0 hit npm and the official MCP registry with 17 tools.
The stack, as of today
| PAYMENT RAILS | 4 — Solana (MPP), BSC (b402), Base (x402), Robinhood Chain (r402) |
| PAID ENDPOINTS | 26 across trenchers, traders, LPs, DeFi, cross-chain, and RWA |
| MODEL GATEWAY | Open-weight + frontier models, OpenAI-compatible, holder free tier |
| MCP TOOLS | 17, on npm + the official MCP registry — npx hyre-mcp |
| IDENTITY | ERC-8004 agent registries live on SKALE + BSC |
| TOKEN | $HYRE buyback & burn every 5 minutes, 20% of revenue |
No API keys anywhere in the stack. Payment — or holding $HYRE — is the only gate.
The Q3 plan
Q2 proved each leg of the thesis works in isolation. Q3 is about volume and connection: getting real agent traffic onto the rails, and making the legs reinforce each other — identity gating intelligence, intelligence priced through payments, payments burning the token.
- INTELLIGENCEReal-time, not just on-request
Everything we sell today answers a question at the moment it's asked. Q3 adds streams: token-launch forensics and live on-chain watchers built on dedicated gRPC infrastructure — the Alchemy relationship doing real work. Agents shouldn't have to poll for what they can subscribe to.
- DISTRIBUTIONThe Gateway goes wholesale
The frontier lineup goes fully live in mid-July, and Gateway capacity opens up to partner platforms — other agent ecosystems reselling HYRE inference under their own roof. Every partner call burns $HYRE like any other call.
- IDENTITYFrom registries to passports
ERC-8004 registries answer "which agent is this?" Q3 works on the harder question — "what is this agent allowed to do?" — with privacy-preserving passports for holder-gated access: prove you qualify without exposing your wallet's whole history.
- PAYMENTSMore rails, one interface
r402 proved the playbook: new chain, live rail in 48 hours. Q3 extends it — more chains via facilitator partnerships, so an agent holding one balance can buy from any HYRE endpoint regardless of where it settles.
- RWADeeper on tokenized assets
Tokenized equities are the fastest-growing venue agents actually trade in. The four /rwa endpoints are a start; Q3 expands coverage — more symbols, more risk surfaces, and tighter integration with agentic trading stacks.
THE ONE-LINER
Rails for the agent economy: pay, know, prove.
Payments any agent can make. Intelligence any agent can buy. Identity any agent can carry. Built in public, verified on-chain.
The rails took a quarter to lay. The traffic is the interesting part.
Roadmap items are plans, not promises — scope and timing can change. Data, not investment advice.
